  Great place to live and grow up as a person and a tennis player. I have lived in this place for almost a month. It was actually my very first time in America and I could not be happier of the decision I made. The American chapter of my life started from there and I hope it will last for many more years.
  You can imagine how different the American culture is from the Italian culture, but thanks to Alex and Carla this transition was pretty smooth. I felt like part of the family since day 1 as they made me feel comfortable in their nice house. I was staying in a big guest room upstairs with another player who was also looking to get a tennis scholarship in an American college. He was very nice and showed me around since I was new to the area.
  As far as the training goes, we were practicing at least once a day. It gets really humid down there and sometimes one good session of tennis and another one for conditioning is enough. Alex is a great coach and taught me lots of things that I did not know before then. Go there with a open mind, it will be worth it! Also, he does not only teach you how to hit a forehand or a backhand, but he is also very good from a mental toughness point of view. This is one thing that tennis teams' Head Coaches really look at in America, especially in Florida where the temperature can get easily to 90 degree and the match becomes a mental fight more than a tennis game.
  As far as finding you a scholarship, Alex got in touch with many different Head Coaches while I was there. Some of them even came to his place and watched us play. Make sure you bring up your A-game when it happens! We also traveled, visited many colleges around, and practice with the college's teams sometimes. Once I got a plane and flew to Aiken, SC because the Head Coach was interested in me. Well, that is where I ended up spending my next 4 years as a student-athlete:). I had a great time in college and it all went by way too fast.
  I am now working as Men's Tennis Assistant Coach at Saint Leo University, FL after 4 years of successful college career at Aiken, SC, and I am also doing my MBA. I look forward to see what my next chapter is going to be.
